Q # 24 - 30 Days of Insight

30 days of insight Apr 24, 2020

Yesterday's article was about marbles and mason jars.  Did you read it?  If not, today's article might not make much sense - so go back and review # 23.

How can you build a bigger jar so you can contain more marbles and deal with increasing demands?

The answer?  Build your inner and outer resources.

Greater resources = greater capacity (bigger jar).

Some examples of inner and outer resources:

  • a strong network of people you can count on
  • physical strength
  • healthy sleep and nutrition habits
  • money/savings
  • time
  • energy
  • love
  • talents and skills
  • ability to respond versus react
  • letting go & having fun
  • optimism
  • faith
  • inner calm (not easily worried for long periods of time)

Anything that makes you feel STRONGER and more capable of dealing with demands is considered a valuable resource for you.

Our capacity (jar size) can change.  When we renew our most important resources, our jars feel LARGER.  Or, when we toss healthy habits aside,  we might feel diminished capacity to deal with demands.

Today, I simply want you to think about this concept and let it sink in........

JOURNAL PROMPT:

What are some of your resources that make you feel like your 'jar is bigger' and you can handle more demands or challenges?  Are you constantly renewing those resources or not?  How will you build a bigger jar for yourself?
