You’re either moving forward or moving backwards - never really standing completely still. That’s because change is a constant in our lives.  You could take *zero* actions, for example, and still end up changing.  

Some changes come out of nowhere and others are a welcome surprise.  Some changes seem to happen TO you, while others are engineered BY you.

How do you usually respond to change, when it happens?  

Take a look at the following examples and be honest with yourself.  Absolutely NO JUDGEMENT ALLOWED. Be an observer of yourself and simply notice how you’re responding to all of the changes in your world, right now.

Which do you identify with the most?

  1. Stressed or worried - Constant feelings of anxiety or feeling stressed and worried due to increased demands.  Not sleeping well right now. Lack of peace.
  2. Curious - Slightly anxious yet more curious about what’s happening and how it might impact you.  Anything new is intriguing to you.
  3. Netflix and chillin’ (a lot) - Riding out this period of time with lots of movies, alcohol, tons of food or other ways of escaping. Waiting for life to go back to normal.  Possibly gaining weight. 
  4. Super Productive - It seems like the world stopped, but you haven’t. You’ve organized your entire home, enjoy working, and keep looking for ways to use this time effectively and get things done.  
  5. Paralyzed or feeling stuck - You usually need a lot of information before you take action so you’re feeling somewhat stuck right now, even though there’s a lot you’d like to accomplish.  You’re just not doing it.
  6. Resilient -  Working from home (and/or helping your kids with schoolwork) had a learning curve but you’ve got the hang of it now.  You’ve stepped up your self care to reduce your stress.
  7. Happy Camper-  No matter what's going on, you look for the bright side and know how to have fun. This time has been a blessing and you're happier than you were before all of this started.

 

No matter how you are responding to the changes all around you, I want you to know your feelings are NORMAL!  We are all different so we all respond in different ways.

You might even see another option that wasn’t on my list.  Go ahead and write THAT down as your answer.
