EXAMPLE OF HOW YOUR LIFE COULD LIKE BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR

I've seen results like this with many of my former coaching clients. Remember, you'll plug in your own goals. But if you pace yourself, with my program, you could accomplish goals like the following. You will choose between five and fifteen goals in each area. Here's an example.

MONTH 1

  • Signed up for Goals 2008 Program and selected goals to work on for the year.
  • Got feedback and suggestions from Kristin via email.
  • Jump started on some of the goals and actions.

MONTH 2 (Chose FITNESS/HEALTH theme.)

  • Joined a gym I actually liked.
  • Started Women on Weights program at the gym.
  • Reduced caffeine intake by drinking eight bottles of H2O at work daily.
  • Started 30 min. walking group at work, 2-3 times a week/lunchtime.
  • Entered first 5K race for November. Will walk/run.
  • Read Andrew Weil's book "Optimum Health."
  • Stopped eating in front of television.
  • Got up to date with doctor appointments (dentist, ObGyn, dermatologist).
  • Attended a nutritionist's talk at health food store.
  • Signed up for once a week Yoga class and attended.

MONTH 3 (Chose HOME/CLUTTER theme.)

  • Removed 10 bags of clutter from the home.
  • Cleaned out closets and donated to Salvation Army.
  • Simplified kitchen (got rid of gadgets).
  • Turned bathroom into a "retreat" with spa products.
  • Took home improvement classes at Home Depot.
  • Retiled the kitchen.
  • Built up reserve of items such as toilet paper and paper towels.
  • Read "Organizing From the Inside Out" and applied principles.
  • Landscaped yard.
  • Got rid of 30 tolerations at home, such as removed stains from carpet.
  • Hired a cleaning service.
  • Created a "multi-sensory" home (scents, sound, fabric).

MONTH 4 (Chose MONEY theme.)

  • Automated bill payments.
  • Created a budget.
  • Created a debt removal strategy to remove debt within one year.
  • Read two of Suze Orman's books.
  • Started saving $150/month.
  • Took investing course.
  • Created a "Fun Fund" of money that must be spent for something fun each month.
  • Opened bills the day they arrived in the mail (used to ignore them).
  • Learned about attracting money by reading "The Energy of Money."

MONTH 5 (Chose FUN/CREATIVITY theme.)

  • Scheduled vacation for July.
  • Developed a new hobby.
  • Made a list of 100 pleasurable things and did 30 of them this month.
  • Set aside at least one hour/day for play or fun.
  • Read "The Artist's Way."
  • Joined a hiking group.
  • Took one day off from work for a total fun day.
  • Put together a weekly game night for friends.
  • Took gourmet cooking lessons.

MONTH 6 (Chose RELATIONSHIPS theme.)

  • Got address book up-to-date.
  • Created a birthday calendar and bought a reserve of birthday cards.
  • Worked through family problems with a therapist (it only took three sessions).
  • Joined a professional networking group and attended monthly meetings.
  • Removed two draining friends from my life.
  • Arranged a standing monthly lunch date with my close friend from college.
  • Have become more "authentic" with people by telling the truth.
  • Identified 10 standards for my relationships and set boundaries around them.
  • Attended an intimacy workshop.
  • Learned my spouse's "love language."
  • Practiced the one-minute hug, daily.
  • Started a relationship journal for my spouse and myself.
  • Found a couple of hobbies to enjoy together (tennis).

MONTH 7 (Chose PERSONAL GROWTH/SPIRITUALITY/SERVICE theme.)

  • Started attending church.
  • Volunteered at a soup kitchen (considering doing it ongoing).
  • Made a donation to a literacy organization.
  • Identified my top three "I AM" phrases.
  • Read "The Power of Now."
  • Started reading "Conversations with God" series.
  • Started a gratitude journal.
  • Learned about intuition at a seminar.
  • Went on a relaxing, peaceful vacation.

MONTH 8 (Chose SELF CARE/APPEARANCE theme.)

  • Identified 10 healthy daily rituals and did them.
  • Got teeth whitened.
  • Got help from a personal shopper to uncover a new look.
  • Started using sunscreen.
  • Made appointment for Lasik surgery and got on payment plan.
  • Fixed torn earlobe (from earrings).
  • Got a massage.
  • Changed my hairstyle and got a makeover.
  • Started spending more time in nature (ate lunch outside everyday).

MONTH 9 (Chose CAREER theme.)

  • Decluttered my office.
  • Asked for a raise and got it.
  • Found a mentor.
  • Developed more friendships at work, less competitive with others.
  • Identified my personal standards and boundaries at work (such as leaving for lunch each day and ending the day at 5:30).
  • Increased motivation at work by taking on more interesting projects.
  • Arranged for a sabbatical for part of next year.
  • Learned a new sales skill to sell with less effort.
  • Joined Toastmasters and improved presentation skills.
  • Deleted old emails and old files from computer.
  • Started to underpromise and overdeliver with clients.
  • Improved office lighting (no more flourescent, using lamps now).
  • Increased number of referrals coming to me.

MONTH 10 (More HOME goals.)

  • Removed 10 bags of clutter.
  • Revamped bedroom with new linens. Created a haven.
  • Painted guest room.
  • Feng Shui'ed my home after reading "Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life."
  • Improved lighting--added lamps and candles.
  • Bought new couch with birthday money.
  • Got rid of 20 more tolerations (such as filing piles of paper).
  • Steam cleaned the carpet.
  • Created a "writing zone" at home.

MONTH 11 (More FITNESS goals.)

  • Ran/walked my first 5K race.
  • Lost 15 pounds on the South Beach diet.
  • Increased Yoga class to twice a week.
  • Started Pilates as well as walking routine with neighbor.
  • Hired a personal trainer.
  • Removed sugar from my diet.
  • Got tested for food allergies.

MONTH 12 (More MONEY goals.)

  • Used increased salary to pay off one credit card.
  • Met with a financial planner.
  • Reviewed debt removal strategy and found a way to shorten it by two months.
  • Simplified expenses and saved $300/month.
  • Got rid of all credit cards; now using cash only or debit card.
  • Read "Your Money or Your Life."
  • Identified old and new money beliefs.
  • Checked my credit report and developed plan to improve it.
  • Stopped impulse spending.
